GNO STEM Announces Hands-On STEM Summer Camps

GNO STEM Announces 2021 Hands-On STEM Summer Camps!

GNO STEM’s Hands-On Summer Camps offer students the opportunity to expand their STEM skills and knowledge and discover career opportunities in a variety of exciting and lucrative STEM fields.

Students can expect a fun and busy week of “hands-on” STEM exploration and learning as they develop team building and other important career skills such as reasoning and analytical thinking. Camp activities will include a mix of guided and self-directed learning in a supervised, fun, and engaging environment.  No prior experience is needed to participate.

Teachers are invited to participate to learn and work side by side with students for hands-on training that they can bring back to the classroom.

GNO STEM’s Hands-On STEM Summer Camps are led by certified instructors. Monday through Friday from 9:30 AM until 3:30 PM. Each camp session is $350 per student. Camp payments are required at the time of registration. There is no cost for teachers to participate.

A limited number of financial need-based scholarships are available to students. Contact jennifer.lacoste@gnostem.org for a scholarship application or to learn more about GNO STEM’s Hands-On STEM Summer Camp. You may also call 504-280-5715.

*We are committed to a healthy and safe camp experience for our students, teachers, and volunteers We will follow strict health and safety protocols according to the guidelines issued by the CDC, State of Louisiana, and City of New Orleans which will determine the number of students/teachers and volunteers allowed to participate. All camp students/teachers, volunteers, and staff will be required to wear a mask or face covering, social distance, complete a health survey upon arrival, and have their temperature taken.

It is our intent to host our camps in-person at the University of New Orleans St. Pe’ TRAC Center. If the health of our community declines due to the COVID-19 pandemic and we are not allowed to host in-person camps, we will shift to a virtual camp model and provide each registered camp student with the supplies needed to successfully participate in all scheduled activities. If necessary, we reserve the right to modify camp activities to deliver a quality virtual experience.
