Magic of Mardi Gras Virtual STEM Workshop

Suggested for Aspiring Engineers in Grades 3 – 7
Wednesday February 17 & Thursday, February 18 | 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

$50 per student. Scholarships are also available.
All materials needed for the hands-on activities and experiments will be provided in
a materials kit in advance of your scheduled workshop.

This fun and creative hands-on virtual STEM workshop will explore the ways STEM makes Mardi Gras magic!

Uncover the STEM in Mardi Gras and use engineering concepts to create an innovative and sturdy structure that helps revelers catch throws and experience the artistry of Mardi Gras parades.  Design a colorful shoebox float that rolls! Learn paper circuitry, and more!

Greater New Orleans STEM’s Virtual Mardi Gras Workshop, sponsored by Chevron, will offer students and teachers the opportunity to expand their STEM skills and knowledge and learn about career opportunities in a variety of STEM fields such as Robotics and Engineering. Participants can expect a fun and busy two days which offers a virtual “hands-on” STEM learning, team building and critical skills in reasoning and analytical thinking. No prior experience is needed to participate, however, a computer device with a camera and internet access is needed.
