WaterMarks 360 – Our Changing Delta

Take your students on the Our Changing Delta Virtual Field Trip experience highlighting the scientific, economic, and cultural outcomes that are directly tied to the Mississippi River delta management. This experience uses online resources (website, videos, and a virtual tour), a physical kit of supplies, and printed materials to immerse middle school learners in this critical area of environmental science. Participating teachers will receive access to all online materials and a free classroom activity kit supporting 6 classroom activities. Stipend available.

BeyondReality@UNO – Virtual Reality Labs

Bring Virtual Reality to your students with BeyondReality@UNO, a virtual reality maker space funded by NASA that allows you and your students to use VR tools. The 2-day workshop will guide teachers through the use of 2 different VR labs – Density and Materials – with follow-up hands-on labs for each. Teachers may then bring their students to the BeyondReality@UNO maker space or request the equipment be brought to them to use in their classrooms. The facility includes virtual and extended reality headsets, software, and computers. Our experts provide training in 3D virtual reality development and extended reality use in education and training applications. Stipend available.

Embark on an exhilarating journey into the realm of forces, motion, and energy, and gain invaluable insights that will enhance your classroom instruction. Learn engaging and investigative hands-on activities and lessons to captivate and inspire your students. Explore how LIGO uses forces, motion and energy to detect gravitational waves and explore the cosmos. Participation in this workshop secures priority scheduling and financial support for field trips in the 2024-2025 academic year. A daily stipend of $100 is provided to participants. 3D Printing

For Grades 3-12 Teachers
Engage your students in 3D printing! Start with 2D and 3D sketching and progress to 3D printing using the computer aided drawing program Tinkercad. Learn classroom management techniques with Tinkercad and 3D printing. Types of 3D printers, purchasing and maintenance will be discussed as well as a variety of projects utilizing 3D printers and how to work in a 1-printer classroom. Receive information regarding available grants to purchase printers. Stipend available.
